Life PracticesSix year ago I became a Christian and began to meet with the local church and enjoy the ministry of Witness Lee. Now I am about to graduate from the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA). I have been meeting with the local church ever since I received the vision of God's economy from the Bible (1 Timothy 1:4). I feel very blessed to participate in God's economy to receive the dispensing of God's life for His Body. Through this dispensing the believers can be built up (Ephesians 2:22) and express God in the local churches. Witness Lee's ministry introduced a few practices to help the believers to be constituted with truth in the Word. I have been really enjoying two of them: having a consistent time with the Lord in the morning and praying over the Word of God, as well as studying, reciting, and prophesying over the Bible in these few years of my Christian life. The morning prayer time helps me to be revived through a daily portion of the Word. Praying, studying, reciting, and prophesying the Bible is indeed an excellent way to be constituted with the truth. Prayerfully reading the Word and transforming the verses into simple prayers according to the instant inspiration from the Lord has edified me tremendously. This is mainly for enjoyment of the Word, not for memorization or dead recitation. Studying is for apprehension so I can be enlightened and ushered into the riches of the divine revelation. This is done by searching for related verses and footnotes according to the main theme. Reciting is for memorization of the studied material so that I can have the Word of Christ dwelling in me richly (Colossians 3:16). Prophesying is to speak forth the Word that has been constituted into me through the former means. The ultimate purpose of praying, studying, reciting, and prophesying is for the believers to be built up as the Body of Christ through prophesying (1 Corinthians 14:3-4). After I have practiced this for several years, I have experienced 1 Corinthians 14:31, For you can all prophesy one by one that all may learn and all may be encouraged. C.L. | Back to List |
